New Silulu Secondary School to serve the KaMaqhekeza community
A newly built, state-of-the-art school in KaMaqhekeza provides pupils with access to quality education closer to home.
Silulu Secondary School in KaMaqhekeza has finally opened in response to the rapid growth of surrounding communities and the rising demand for accessible, quality education.
The Mpumalanga Department of Education (DoC) had placed pupils and educators who were temporarily accomodated at Mjokwane Secondary School.
Prior to the establishment of the school, children had to travel long distances to access education. Today, education is no longer a privilege reserved for a few, it is a right being realised.
The state-of-the-art school comprises of 28 classrooms, an administration block, a computer centre, science laboratory, library, and a multi-purpose hall.

The facility also includes a fully equipped kitchen, 22 Enviro Loo sanitation units, reliable water and electricity supply, a guard house, security fencing, ramps and handrails for accessibility, a sheltered parking area, and a paved assembly block. It boasts tennis and netball courts, as well as a soccer field.

The department told learners and educators that the school represents far more than bricks, it restores dignity, stability, and a renewed hope.
