 New school in Bushbuckridge to restore hope

The construction of Khokhovela Primary School stands as a restoration of dignity to the learners, teachers, and community members in Bushbuckridge.

The construction of Khokhovela Primary School in Cottondale is transforming into a state-of-the-art facility. The development stands as a restoration of hope and dignity for learners, educators, and community members.

According to the Department of Education (DoE), the first step of the construction has been completed. This includes the construction of the perimeter fence, guardhouse, as well as the installation of sewer systems, water, and electrical services. This milestone has laid a firm foundation for a safe, secure, and functional learning environment.

The second phase is currently at 30% completion, consisting of the construction of an administration block, three Grade R classroom blocks to strengthen early childhood development, new classroom blocks, and the renovation of eight existing classrooms to restore pride and functionality within the school.

The DoE expressed profound appreciation to the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport for the progress they have achieved this far, and also acknowledged community members from Bushbuckridge, who created a conducive environment for the project.
