Mpumalanga Premier’s Cup returns bigger than ever
The Mpumalanga Premier's Cup returns after one year break, bringing top football, netball and school sport to KaNyamazane this July.
The much-anticipated Mpumalanga Premier’s Cup is back after a one-year break, promising an exciting celebration of football, netball, youth development and community empowerment across the province. The tournament was officially launched by Premier Mandla Ndlovu at KaNyamazane Stadium on July 10.
This year’s edition expands beyond professional football, incorporating school sports, community competitions and netball while creating opportunities for young athletes to progress from grassroots level to the professional ranks.

The school football and netball semi-finals will be staged on July 18 and the finals on July 19, with matches taking place at KaBokweni Stadium and the KaNyamazane Netball Courts, paving the way for the professional finals later that same day.
The tournament will culminate in a thrilling top-four football showdown at KaNyamazane Stadium on July 19, featuring TS Galaxy FC, Kruger United FC, The Bees FC and Casric Stars FC.
Admission is free.
The Premier’s Cup has steadily grown into one of Mpumalanga’s flagship sporting events.
In 2024, the tournament introduced the inaugural Mpumalanga Premier’s International Cup and featured TS Galaxy FC, Young Africans (Yanga SC) and FC Augsburg. TS Galaxy defeated FC Augsburg 2-1 to win the inaugural title.

Speaking during the official launch, Ndlovu said: “The Mpumalanga Premier’s Cup will help pave the way for talented young athletes in the province of Mpumalanga. I would be proud to see players who participate in this tournament one day representing South Africa in both football and netball.”
He added that the tournament is designed to discover and nurture talent, strengthen social cohesion, and stimulate local economic growth.
With elite football, school competitions, substantial prize money and a strong commitment to youth development, the 2026 Mpumalanga Premier’s Cup is expected to showcase the province’s finest sporting talent while inspiring the next generation of South African stars.
