Mentally Strong Woman Foundation launches in Mbombela to support female mental health
A day of healing, learning and practical tools marks the start of a new community initiative for women in Mbombela.
Women gathered at Christie’s Restaurant in Mbombela on Sunday, August 9, for a mental health talk marking the launch of the Mentally Strong Woman (MSW) Foundation.
According to the foundation’s founder, Gugu Ntuli, women from different communities came together for a day of healing, learning and empowerment.
“The conversations focused on issues that deeply affect women’s mental health, including grief, trauma, financial well-being and how to walk away from narcissistic abuse,” she said.

Ntuli added that the event created a powerful and safe space where women could share their experiences and emotions while receiving practical tools to help them cope with stress.
Each woman also went home with an educational pack to continue learning about mental health.
Local sponsors support initiative
The MSW Foundation launch was supported by The Grove SUPERSPAR, Edgars Beauty and Akeso.
“As we reflect on the success of the day, our hope is to reach and empower even more women in the future,” Ntuli said. “We invite more partners and sponsors to walk this journey with us as we continue to educate, heal and empower women together.”
