University of Mpumalanga hosts agriculture dialogue with young farmers
Academic partnerships and smart technology take centre stage as young agripreneurs explore new opportunities in the sector.
The University of Mpumalanga (UMP), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, hosted a dialogue with farmers on Monday, August 3, to engage on the future of agriculture.

The dialogue focused on empowering young people to shape the future of agriculture by strengthening academic and research partnerships, amplifying youth voices, expanding opportunities for young farmers and agripreneurs, and accelerating the adoption of smart, sustainable farming practices.
Driving innovation and partnerships
During the event, UMP vice-chancellor Prof Thenjiwe Meyiwa encouraged attendees to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship and technology to drive sustainable agricultural development.
