According to www.elections.org.za, the commission has distributed the bulk of non-security election materials to local municipalities in readiness for special voting on November 2 and 3, and election day on November 4.

Special vote applications opened on September 21 and closed on October 17. A record 2 655 067 special vote applications have been approved, a 131% increase from the 1 147 759 special votes approved for a comparable election in 2021.

3 channels confirm voting station details

Voters can confirm their voting station details through three main channels: SMS 32810 with their ID number and receive confirmation, including their voters’ roll sequence number, which will facilitate ease of identification of the voter’s name on the voters’ roll.

Call the contact centre on 0800 11 8000 to confirm their voting station details with the agents in their preferred language and receive the sequence number.

WhatsApp “Hi” to 0600 88 0000, wherein the voter can, through the “Am I registered” menu, get confirmation of their voting station and receive their voters’ roll sequence number. This voters’ roll sequence (or order) number will facilitate ease of identification of the voter’s name on the voters’ roll.

For those who have registered to vote, when you arrive at the voting station, the ballot papers received will depend on the type of municipality you are registered in.
