“It’s not all about wearing heels”

As she is the provincial ambassador, she is determined to leave a mark wherever she goes.

Being crowned first princess of Miss Mpumalanga 2013 has opened many doors for local model, Felicia Muwayi.

Recently, this 22-year-old was announced one of the provincial ambassadors for Miss Earth SA.

This is after she participated during this year’s annual Miss Earth South Africa 2013 beauty pageant held at Monte Casino in Johannesburg.

Speaking to Mpumalanga News, she said although she didn’t bring the title home, she has remained humble and excited about her achievements and that she was chosen as one of the provincial ambassadors for this brand.

“First of all I would like to thank the people of Mpumalanga, especially those who supported me. My family, Suke Productions and my friends, who I met during the crowning of Miss Mpumalanga.

“Had it not been for all those people, I wouldn’t be where I am today. The competition was difficult but I’m so happy about what I have achieved as I believe that this is only the beginning,” said Muwayi. She added that being part of the top 16, qualifying for finals helped her in terms of gaining more experience.

“I have learnt that you can finish what you have started as long as you believe in yourself and stay focussed,” As she is the provincial ambassador, she is determined to leave a mark wherever she goes.

“Being an ambassador is not all about wearing high heels.”

There’s a saying, “Good things come to those who wait”. Recently Muwayi has landed in the media industry as she joined the Nkomazi Community Radio station, as a sports anchor on weekdays and on Saturdays she hosts her show, Sports with Felicia. She was a sports person at school and one day she would like to see herself as a presenter on TV.
