Eat your heart out with no guilt

No Diet Day intends to help to teach people to have a healthy relationship with food, and to shy away from restrictive diets.

Go ahead and indulge in all your favourite foods without feeling an inch of guilt.

Well, just for today because it’s international No Diet Day,a day dedicated to raising awareness of how unhealthy dieting can be harmful and promoting healthy eating rather than dieting.

No Diet Day intends to help to teach people to have a healthy relationship with food, and to shy away from restrictive diets and the harmful results they often have, such as anorexia and body-type perceptions in the media.

This day was created by Mary Evans Young in 1992.

Young is the director of the British group “Diet Breakers”. According to internet sources, after personally experiencing anorexia nervosa, she worked to help people appreciate themselves for what they are, and to appreciate the body they have.

Here’s how some people had to say about this day of total indulgence,

“I’m celebrating international ‘No Diet Day’ by having a pepper steak pie for breakfast. This could turn ugly.” Ciska Kay, editor of Get It magazine.

“Today you can eat your heart out with no hint of guilt as it’s an International No Diet Day. Happy international ‪#‎NoDietDay‬.” Tsidi Seme,Journalist at Rise FM.

“Every day should be a No Diet Day’ because healthy eating habits is the way!” Sesane Mabuza, Journalist at Mpumalanga News.

Happy free eating!
