BMW SA pays tribute to the 325is ‘Gusheshe’ with 330is Edition

Only 230 units of the 330is Edition will be built.

The BMW E30 325is has, for many years widely known for its spinning and stunt capabilities, thanks to its rear-wheel-drive setup.

Yes, the 325is ‘Gusheshe’ is now being sought after by car collectors who are even willing to pay double the amount for a clean model and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

As part of paying homage to the local cult classic, BMW South Africa is introducing only 230 units of the 330is Edition. The 330is Edition was part of the Red Bull Shay’ iMoto competition that features South Africa’s top spinners who go head-to-head to clinch the coveted title.

There is no other car that aptly represents the spinning culture in South Africa such as the BMW 325is. It is an integral part of the sport and we are planning to build on this heritage with our official partnership,” said Gennaro Bonafede, Head of BMW M South Africa.

The BMW 330is’ power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 190 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque.

It blisters from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds and spawns an eight-speed automatic transmission.

It runs on 20-inch M Performance wheels as part of the M Sport package. The exterior also features an M Aerodynamic kit that adds an M Performance front splitter, M Performance side skirts in body colour, M Performance boot spoiler and an M Performance exhaust.

The BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line with extended contents also includes a black grille and darkened interior headlights.

Each BMW 330is Edition also carries an authentic boot badge unique to the vehicle.  

If you think of getting your hands on the 330is after reading this, get those order books ready but be prepared to fork out R899 000.
