Ehlanzeni community policing forums receive reflector jackets and torches

The MEC of DCSSL, Gabisile Shabalala, officiated at the handover on Friday at the Mbombela Rugby Stadium.

The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison (DCSSL) has started the first phase of handing over reflector jackets and torches to members of community police forums (CPFs) at all police stations across the province.

The first phase of the programme took place in Ehlanzeni. The MEC of DCSSL, Gabisile Shabalala, officiated at the handover on Friday at the Mbombela Rugby Stadium.  

Other CPFs in neighbouring regions will receive this material in the next few weeks.

The initiative is part of combatting crime and mobilising communities to enable them to do so.

“The department hopes the volunteers who serve in CPFs will continue to be motivated to assist the police in the fight against crime,” she said.
