The fun run was enjoyed by all the participants who took part at the Riverside CID on Human Rights Day.

Amid the city’s bustling developments, the participants of the Greater Riverside Biodiversity Initiative (GRBI) Fun Run, hosted by the Riverside CID, connected with nature on Friday, March 21.

This event attracted families and friends, some with their pets, to enjoy the 3km and 5km trails at the Green Valley Estate in Riverside on the public holiday.
The marketing manager of the Riverside CID, Robyn Pretorius, said the fun run was challenging and rewarding, but fostered a strong sense of community and connection with nature.

“It was a pleasure to host the Lowveld community for an unforgettable outdoor experience in collaboration with the Green Valley Estate, Mahindra Nelspruit and Chas Everitt. The off-road run and bush walk brought together participants of all ages and backgrounds. We are excited to make these fun runs a regular occurrence as we continue to grow awareness around the Riverside reserve located within the GRBI.

The GRBI was founded with a vision to create a safe, future-fit green space built on strong partnerships – promoting conservation, social cohesion and cultural vibrancy, while driving progress through integration, entrepreneurship and dialogue,” Pretorius said.
She said the Riverside CID aims to bring people together and create a lasting legacy for generations to come through such initiatives.
