Faith healer cons man out of cash

Police are appealing to communities to watch out for scams.

Ladysmith detectives are investigating a case of fraud after a man was conned out of a large sum of cash by a faith healer.

The scam victim visited the faith healer last month. During the consultation, he was convincingly told that the cash in his bank account could be doubled.

The man was given an account number and told to deposit money into this account, after which the money would supposedly double.

The man trustingly put cash into the account.

After that, the faith healer has ‘disappeared’ and so has the man’s money.

Police are appealing to the community not to fall prey to these kinds of scams.
