Health department releases new proposed rules for Covid-19 masks

A157-page document that covers vaccinations, management of human remains and wearing of masks is open to public comment.

Considering getting rid of your Covid-19 masks? You may need to hold on to them for a little longer. The National Department of Health has released new draft rules pertaining to the wearing of face masks.

The department proposed that face masks still be a requirement, however only in certain environments.

Here are some proposed changes:

Face masks must be worn when attending indoor gatherings.

It’s compulsory for public transport commuters to wear mask when in a bus or taxi.

Employers must provide employees with a face masks that cover the nose and mouth.

The public has until April 15 to comment.
