The community in Mossel Bay is in shock after the death of Ward 9 chairperson Wayne Jordaan.

Jordaan was at his sister’s house at the time of his passing.

Family spokesperson Alistair Brinkhuis said his cousin, Jordaan, had fallen ill on Saturday and had been taken to Mossel Bay Provincial Hospital by his sister Shjanneil.

She had brought him back to her house the same day.

Brinkhuis said the family think the cause of death was heart failure.

“For 17 years he had been on heart medication,” he added.

Jordaan was not married and had no children. Brinkhuis said: “He had been in long-term relationships but had never married.”
