Book review: Assassin’s Creed – Black Flag
Reviewer: Leandi Cameron. Author: Oliver Bowden. Publisher: Penguin Books. Rating: Awesome!

It’s the Golden Age of Piracy – a time when greed, ambition and corruption overcome all loyalties.
Edward Kenway is making his name as one of the greatest pirates of his day.
In the brilliant new novel, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, discover how Edward, a young privateer, became one of the world’s most deadly pirates, drawn into the centuries-old battle between the Templars and the Assassins.
Even though I sometimes find myself weary of videogame books, as they sometimes may leave you feeling deflated at the end, this one really does tell a good story, and keeps you turning the pages.
I admit, I have not played the Assassin’s Creed game, so I cannot testify whether the book is closely bonded to the game’s storyline.
This book by veteran author Oliver Bowen is the sixth edition, and has seen success across the board.
Surprisingly enough, this book drew me in right from the start, with beautiful descriptions and pages filled with action.
It’s not easy taking a pre-determined plotline and writing it down into a book, but I truly believe that not only avid readers will be captured by this book, but that Assassin’s Creed gamers will find this book downright intriguing.
