British car dealers unveil their ideal sales personality: Margaret Thatcher

In an amusing twist, some British car dealers have revealed their preference for the ultimate salesperson: the late Margaret Thatcher.

Known for her no-nonsense and straight-talking approach during her tenure as prime minister (1979-1990), Thatcher’s characteristics are deemed highly desirable in the sales world.

As Britain anticipates another general election, the survey on HonkHonk, a platform connecting car dealers and private sellers, reflects a shared frustration with recent political leaders. Thatcher, despite being a divisive figure, tops the list for her straight-talking nature, love of entrepreneurship and respect for the value of money. Notably, Boris Johnson secures the third spot, with one dealer noting, “He’d be a fun team member, but he doesn’t seem able to concentrate, so we’d have to watch him.”

Boris Johnson took a surprising 3rd place.

The humorous ranking sheds light on the industry’s perspective on various political figures, offering a light-hearted take on the qualities valued in salespersons and managers.
