13-year-old initiate still missing
Police are still looking for a 13-year-old child from Ga-Rankuwa, north of Pretoria, who went missing after attending an initiation in June.
Simphiwe Mathebula went missing after he allegedly escaped from an initiation school. Policesaid on Friday, they had not heard from the child’s family regarding his whereabouts, Rekord East reported.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Matthews Nkoadi said residents had assisted the policeduring the search by putting up posters all over Ga-Rankuwa.
The boy, known as ‘Makhosana’ to other initiates, was last seen wearing his initiation clothes.
His father, Mike, said his son loved cars and he used to hang around mechanics and help them repair them.
He said he trusted the police to eventually find his son.
