7 killed in head-on collision outside Seshego
Spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matomi Moremi-Taueatsoala says three men and four women were killed in the accident
Seven people, three men and four women, were killed in a head-on collision on the D19 road near Sengatane outside Seshego, Polokwane Municipality on Sunday, Review Online reports.
Spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matomi Moremi-Taueatsoala said two sedans were involved in the collision.
“Six people were confirmed dead on the scene. Four others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Seshego, where one succumbed to injuries sustained.”
The road was closed for around four hours.
Meanwhile in the Mopani district, two people were killed when a sedan and bakkie collided at Maphalle.

Moremi-Taueatsoala said the incident happened after one driver lost control of their vehicle and rear-ended the other.
“The driver of the sedan was certified dead on the scene. The driver of the second vehicle as well as four others passengers were rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. The driver later succumbed to his injuries.”
Preliminary investigations revealed reckless driving as the possible cause of the accident, he said.
Transport and Community Safety MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya has urged motorists to drive with caution. “It is worrying that Limpopo is registering most fatal accidents over weekends.”
