Alleged bogus cops pursued over truck hijacking in Pretoria
The hijackers reportedly drove with the truck driver all the way from the north to the east of Pretoria, where he was dropped off.

Alleged bogus traffic officers were reportedly being pursued in connection with a truck hijacking in the east of Pretoria on Wednesday.
This as the driver of the Superlink tautliner truck reportedly told police he had been stopped by people who appeared to be officers, according to police spokesperson Sergeant Matsobane Mabusela.
Mabusela said the driver was stopped and was told there was something wrong with the tyres near the Solomon Mahlangu Road off-ramp.
“It is alleged that when the truck driver got off the truck to check the tyre he realised he was being hijacked,” said.
The hijackers then reportedly drove with the truck driver until they got to Rosslyn, north of Pretoria, where he was dropped off.
“A docket of truck hijacking has been opened for investigation,” he said.
The docket would be transferred to Mamelodi for further investigation as the hijacking did not occur in their policing precinct.
Mabusela further called on members of the public who had any information to get in touch with their nearest police station.
It remained unclear whether or not the hijacked truck had since been recovered.
