Brave Pietermaritzburg mum vows to protect son after school attack

A gang of four boys attacked a secondary school learner outside the school gates. The child was assaulted and stabbed.

An attack on a learner from a secondary school in Pietermaritzburg has left the boy’s mother aggrieved.

On Tuesday, a gang of four boys attacked the learner outside the school gates. The child was assaulted and stabbed.

The boy’s mother says she is outraged this had happened in full view of the school authorities, who she claims did nothing to help her 15-year-old child.

“My son will be going to school tomorrow and I will be outside waiting to take him home safely. I am a single mum, my child’s dad died two years ago and we have no-one to stand up for us. I will have to do it myself,” the mum says.
