Case against ‘killer father’ remanded

The case against the 36-year-old Limpopo man who allegedly killed his four sons by slitting their throats, has been remanded in the Magatle Magistrates’ Court.

The man is currently facing four charges of murder. It is believed the accused was allegedly having marital problems and was no longer living with his wife.

He allegedly collected the children and went to Gauteng to visit his wife in September, Capricorn Review reported.

Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Ronel Otto said it is alleged when they returned home to the village of Magatle, he killed the four children, all boys.

“He allegedly cut all four boys’ throats with a knife and afterwards attempted to commit suicide,” added Otto.

It is reported that the man made his youngest son call his mother while the attack took place.

The mother then called her parents and asked them to inform the police. The man then tried to commit suicide after the murders.

The case was remanded to 15 October on Tuesday and the man is to remain in custody.
