Caxton newsletter subscribers: Did you win an AA fuel voucher?
Three lucky winners are R5 000 richer, simply because they subscribed to a Caxton newsletter.
With steep fuel price increases adding pressure to motorists’ wallets, three lucky Caxton newsletter subscribers can breathe a sigh of relief after each winning a R5 000 fuel voucher.
In addition to the weekly newsletters produced by Caxton’s local newspapers – which update readers on important or interesting events in their community, a weekly Caxton Network News newsletter is produced. This contains a round-up of local stories that made national headlines.
All newsletters are electronic and are emailed to subscribers.
Caxton Local Media, its newsletter partner Sawubona, and the Automobile Association (AA) ran a four-month competition in which readers who subscribed to either a local or the national newsletter stood a chance of winning one of three vouchers.
The winners are Tebogo Sydes, Dineo Mhlambi and Beverley Homan.
“As someone who regularly travels from Gauteng to Limpopo, this win is a relief… it provides a subsidy for fuel costs until the end of the month,” says Sydes.

Homan says: “What a wonderful surprise. Thank you, Caxton and the AA; the prize is a great blessing. A real case of ‘manna from heaven’, as they say.”
In a statement, the AA said: “We know the financial pressure that rising fuel costs are putting on South African wallets, already burdened with the stress of increased tariffs, electricity costs, food prices and public transport fares.
“We are hugely excited for the winners and are confident that this prize will make a difference.
“While we congratulate our winners, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank all participants for their support and enthusiasm. We look forward to future promotions and events through which we can connect with our customers.”

Caxton senior project manager Wannita Boettger says the local newsletters are becoming increasingly popular, with loyal subscribers looking forward to their weekly news updates being delivered directly to their inboxes.
“Over 49 communities are covered by our stable of local newspapers, she says. Readers can choose to have newsletters from any or all of these communities sent to them, and can subscribe to the national newsletter as well, which means they are guaranteed to not miss a thing.
“Over the years, Caxton has developed a reputation as a trustworthy source of credible news. Communities are at the heart of all we do, and our electronic newsletters add another convenient platform for residents wanting to stay informed,” says Boettger.
