Covid-19 positive confirmed cases rise to 2 415
No new deaths have been mentioned since Monday’s number of 27 deaths.
The health minister on Tuesday announced that the number of Covid-19 positive confirmed cases in South Africa has risen to 2 415.
Dr Zweli Mkhize said at the briefing that they are now seeing a lot more cases from the private sector testing.
“We believe this is the way South Africa will be able to deal with the pandemic by sending out teams to identify those who need to be tested.”
He said once they are found they will be treated. He said the total number of tests conducted stands on 87 022.
“It is important that we continue to test more and more. The figures so far are: Gauteng 909, Western Cape 643, Kwa-Zulu Natal 489, Eastern Cape 174, Free State 98, Limpopo 24, Mpumalanga 22, North West 22, Northern Cape 16 and an unallocated 18.”
