Eskom announces continuous daily power cuts until Friday
Stage 1 and 2 load-shedding will be implemented until Friday.

A delay in the return of two generating units at Camden and one each at Kendal and Matimba power
stations have contributed to more generation capacity shortages.
This is according to Eskom who says they currently have 3 945MW on planned maintenance, while another 14 499MW of capacity is unavailable due to breakdowns.
An increase in load-shedding has been announced as a result.

Eskom says stage 2 load-shedding will continue to be implemented on a daily basis between 16:00 and 05:00 the next morning.
“Stage 1 load-shedding will then be implemented daily at 05:00 and continue until 16:00. These stages will continue daily until Friday. The increase in load-shedding is mainly due to the need to preserve emergency generation reserves,” the power utility adds.
Eskom explains many running units are currently operating at reduced capacity due to technical faults.
The power utility says an update on planned load-shedding will be announced ‘as soon as there are any significant changes.’
