Eskom reaches wage agreement with unions
Ongoing strike action at the power utility has caused rolling blackouts in South Africa, including stage 6 load-shedding at times.
Eskom announced on Tuesday afternoon that it has reached a wage agreement with labour unions after a weeks-long strike by workers.
According to a tweet by the power utility, the agreement entails an increase of 7% with three recognised labour unions, which include NUM, Numsa and Solidarity.

On Sunday, Eskom released a load-shedding schedule for the week. It is unclear at this stage if the wage agreement will have an impact on this schedule.

05:00 – 24:00: Stage 4
Thursday:
00:00 – 05:00: Stage 2
05:00 – 24:00: Stage 4
Friday:
00:00 – 05:00: Stage 2
