Female robbers still on the run
Police are still searching for four women who took items from two houses in the west of Pretoria while posing as would-be home buyers.
The women used the same method to rob a house in Erasmia and one in Mountain View yesterday,Rekord Moot reported.
“They entered a house on sale in Mountain View pretending to be viewing the house. One woman asked to see other parts of the house while the others allegedly stayed back and took what they could,” said Hercules police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango.
The women were believed to be driving a Silver Toyota Yaris and were accompanied by a male.
In Erasmia, the women allegedly asked to use the toilet of the house they robbed, added Msimango.
Pretoria central cluster spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto urged residents with relevant information to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing.
On Monday, two suspects aged 26 and 31 were arrested for allegedly robbing a business and being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in KwaMashu, Durban.
It was alleged the unidentified victim was at his tuck shop in J section, KwaMashu, when he was approached by three suspects at gunpoint at about 3pm.
They threatened him with a firearm and took an undisclosed amount of cash
and airtime vouchers before they fled the scene on foot, police said.
Police responded immediately after the robbery was reported and managed to arrest two suspects with the help of the community.
