Five suspects arrested in West Rand attempted robbery
One suspect was shot in the arm by police.
Maraisburg and Delary Policing Forum received a call at about 8am, March 13, regarding a business robbery in progress, the Roodepoort Record reports.
The police and neighbouring CPFs were called to assist.
It was found that five suspects attempted to rob Casablanca on Albertina Sisulu Road in Maraisburg. One suspect was shot in the arm by police members who arrived on scene.
He received medical attention from ER24. All five suspects were arrested on scene.
The Police Airwing helicopter was deployed as well as the TRT Unit, K9 Unit, Metro Police, Florida Police, Dunmar Armed Response and the various CPFs.
By 9.40am the road was still closed due to the forensic team’s investigation.
