4 Mpumalanga men kidnapped between Standerton and Trichardt

Anyone with information about a possible Mpumalanga hijacking and kidnapping is asked to come forward.

The sons of four prominent businessmen from Trichardt near Secunda in Mpumalanga were allegedly hijacked and kidnapped on the R546 between Standerton and Trichardt last night at around 22:30.

This is according to information received by Ridge Times from several security and other groups.

The four men allegedly went to Standerton to play padel tennis and the incident happened on their way home.

Jameel Salley, Yusuf Saber, Ahmed Dhorat and Ziyaad Salley were travelling in a white Volkswagen Tiguan with registration number JXT 557 MP.

Large sums of money were apparently drawn from their bank accounts.

It is alleged that their cellphones lost signal near Vosloorus.

This is the last place the cellphone signals were picked up.

The families of the kidnapped men were not available to comment at the time of publishing, but various emergency groups have sent out requests on social media platforms to be on the lookout for the men.

Attempts to obtain comment from provincial police were unsuccessful at the time of publishing.
