Human remains found in Nandoni Dam, Limpopo

The ongoing forensic investigations will still determine whether the human remains are those of missing Uvhona Sikhwari or not.

Police in Thohoyandou are investigating a case of inquest following the gruesome discovery of two human legs floating in Nandoni dam on Friday, 14 December, Polokwane Review  reports.

The remains were found during a joint search operation by the SAPS Search and Rescue Unit and other role players, following the disappearance of Uvhona Sikhwari from Hamagidi village who was reported missing on Saturday, 8 December, said Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

“Immediately after his disappearance, a search for the victim commenced in the surrounding areas until his vehicle was found abandoned next to Nandoni Dam. His belongings were still inside and the keys were in the ignition.”

The ongoing forensic investigations will still determine whether the human remains are those of the deceased or not. The joint search operation for the victim is still underway, Ngoepe added.

The police urge anyone who can assist with information on the whereabouts of the victim, to contact the crime stop number 08600 10111 or the crime Line SMS 32211 or the nearest Police Station.
