KZN man allegedly shoots girlfriend’s daughter

A police investigation is under way after a man allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend’s 19-year-old daughter in the KwaMsane area of Mtubatuba in KwaZulu-Natal.

The alleged shooting happened after an argument broke out between the boyfriend and the daughter, Nokwazi Ntombela, over her mother’s bank card on Saturday, Zululand Observerreported.

According to police, the young man jumped the house fence, forced open the front door and threatened the teen and other children with a gun.

He then fired and allegedly shot Ntombela in the lower and upper body, killing her instantly.

Police also confirmed the mother had obtained a protection order against the boyfriend before Saturday’s incident as he was apparently abusive to her children.

According to neighbours, the young man had attempted to knock the teen over with his car on Christmas Day.

He was arrested and charged with murder and is expected to appear in court soon.

In a separate incident, a 19-year-old schoolboy was charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend’s mother to death near Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, in October.

The mother reportedly went to a neighbour’s house looking for her primary school-aged daughter, who had been missing for a week.

She later found her daughter at a house belonging to the 19-year-old’s neighbour and was stabbed to death during an argument that ensued.
