KZN man arrested for murder

A tip-off has lead Pinetown Detectives to the arrest a 44-year-old man for murder.

Police received information about the whereabouts of the suspect and he was arrested at Inchanga area in KwaZulu-Natal, yesterday.

It is alleged that at about 13:44pm, police received a report of murder at Emmaus road, Westmead near Pinetown.Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered the body of Mandlakayise Innocent Mbele (54) with stab wounds on the chest, police said in a statement.

The motive for the killing is unknown.

The unidentified suspect will be charged for murder and will appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Monday 05 January, police said.

In a separate incident, a man was arrested for allegedly murdering a 17-year-old initiate in Centane, Eastern Cape, last week.

Abongile Transport was visiting the suspect’s home when the suspect allegedly chased and stabbed him in the upper body, Captain Jackson Manatha said in a statement.

The motive of the murder was not known.
