KZN shop assistant stabbed in the head

Police were said to be looking for suspects who allegedly stabbed a shop assistant at Jericho location, near Margate in KwaZulu-Natal, last Friday evening.

Police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka said the assistant was about to close the business when a man asked to buy cigarettes, South Coast Herald reported.

“While the assistant went to get the cigarettes, another man approached him and held him at knifepoint,” Mfeka said.

The robbers then reportedly demanded money and stabbed the shop assistant in the head.

They later fled the scene without taking anything.

No arrests have yet been made, but police have opened a case of attempted murder.

In a separate incident, a woman was stabbed to death in the street in Izingolweni, KwaZulu-Natal, on Saturday.

The woman had reportedly been walking with a friend in Manzamhlophe when a man ran up to her and stabbed her several times.
