KZN’s former public prosecutor found murdered in his home

The man was killed during a house robbery.

A 69-year-old Ashley resident was found murdered at his home last night, and according to Pinetown police spokesperson Captain Bongumusa Manqele, the former Pinetown public prosecutor’s sister became concerned when she tried calling him and did not get any response, the Highway Mail reports.

“The sister contacted ADT and the police to check on him. When they arrived they found the front door opened and searched around the house and found him dead in his bedroom.”

Captain Manqele said most of the rooms were ransacked and his car, a Citi Golf, was also missing.

“A case of murder has been opened, and no one has been arrested at this stage,” said Manqele.
