Parents of slain Tshwane University of Technology student to identify his body
The student was shot on Thursday evening at the university’s Soshanguve campus when police were called to scenes of violence that had erupted during the SRC elections.
The parents of a Tshwane University of Technology student who was fatally shot on campus are expected to identify his body, Rekord North reports.

It is alleged that the bullet that killed the student came from the shots fired by the police.
University spokesperson Willa de Ruyter said deputy vice-chancellor Professor Stanely Mukhola visited the family to deliver the tragic news.
“They are travelling [from Polokwane] to Pretoria to identify their son’s body and find closure,” she said.
Independent police investigative directorate spokesperson Moses Dlamini previously said police opened fire after students barricaded the entrance to the campus and threw stones at police and their vehicles.
He said the police reported that they fired into the ground with R5 rifles and that when they left no one was injured.
The directorate was investigating the case.
Meanwhile, the DA picketed outside the Soshanguve police station on Saturday morning in condemnation of the shooting.
“The DA have already written to the independent police investigative directorate and police minister Bheki Cele, asking that they investigate why live ammunition was used on students,” the party said in a statement.
