Several licensing offices in JHB closed due to protest action

The Johannesburg metro will advise residents further as to when the service centers will open again.

Several licensing offices in Johannesburg were forced to close their doors due to protest action by residents over the changes made to the Gauteng Provincial Government driver’s licence and testing booking system.

The changes blocked third parties from the booking system on behalf of individuals or groups.

The Johannesburg metro licensing department and testing station has also been affected by the protest action even though it is a decision made by the province.

The following test stations have been affected:

Region A: Midrand licensing (closed since last week)

Region B: Strijdom Park (closed), Randburg is operating

Region C: Roodepoort City Hall (closed)

Region D: Dube Vocational Licensing Department is operating

Region E: Region E licensing department (closed)

Region F: Langlaagte Licensing Department (closed), Ormonde Licensing (closed), Eureka house (closed)

The metro will advise residents further as to when the service centres will open again.
