Suspects killed following pregnant pupil’s murder

One of five suspect has reportedly been beaten to death while another was burnt to death after they allegedly robbed‚ kidnapped and murdered a Matric pupil‚ who was seven months pregnant in Ga-Motibibi, Bushbuckridge in Mpumlanga today.

Bushbuckridge police spokesperson Lieutenant Ndlovukazi Mashele said it is alleged the learner‚ 20‚ was asleep in her home when robbers stormed into the house at about 11pm last Friday. Her brother‚ 24‚ was also asleep in their shack.

“They held them at gunpoint and demanded money after which the victims handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to them. The suspects then fled the scene and forcefully took the 20-year-old sibling with them‚ a Grade 12 learner‚” police said in a statement.

The girl was found dead the following day.

On Tuesday, angry community members allegedly accosted one of the suspects before beating him to death. His alleged accomplice was also captured in the Saselani area and later burnt to death  at the same spot where the girl was found.

According to Mashele, the community members were hunting for the three remaining suspects on Tuesday afternoon.

Two cases of murder case have since been opened, she said.
