Two men arrested for dagga possession worth R1.8m

Upon searching their car, police found eight compressed dagga bags weighing 108.5kg.

Two suspects aged 41 and 38 are expected to appear again before the Barberton Magistrates’ Court after they were recently found in possession of dagga worth an estimated value of R1.8 million, reports the Mpumalanga News.

The two suspects, from Venda, briefly appeared before the Barberton Magistrates’ Court on charges of dealing in dagga.

They were each released on R2 000 bail.

Upon searching their car, police found eight compressed dagga bags weighing 108.5kg.

According to police, the suspects were coming from buying the dagga in Swaziland and heading to Venda.

They will appear before the same magistrate’s court on August 10.
