WATCH: Mokopane shutdown protest enters day two in Limpopo

The march is reportedly driven by residents following the murder of two ANC members, Vaaltyn Kekana and Ralph Kanyane, last week.

Residents from in and around town and as far as Mookgophong are gathering at the Caltex Garage in Dudu Madisha Drive to take part in #Day 2 Mokopane shutdown march, Polokwane Review reports.

The march will start at the Caltex Garage in Dudu Madisha Drive and then move down Nelson Mandela Drive towards Pretorius Street and then to Retief Street.

The Mogalakwena Local Municipality in an earlier statement said that high police visibility will see to it that the proceedings will be peaceful, but urges residents to avoid the affected areas.

The municipality assures residents that service delivery will not be affected and asked protestors to refrain from violence or intimidation against the community and business owners.
