“With energy as a service, you are simply swopping the exact energy savings produced by our equipment for the use of the product,” he said.
They design the system according to your electricity consumption and based on the roof space of your property suitable for solar.
On average, a daily production of between 25-30 kWh of electricity can be expected.
The system comes with Solar PV Panels, Hybrid Inverter and Lithium-Ion Battery Storage.
One can opt for a solar or gas geyser for extra savings.
Rental of the unit increases by 6% annually.
To put it simply, your electricity bill would become an investment which could deliver as much as R1 million savings over 20 years depending on your circumstances.
It boils down to having free electricity while the sun shines and backup power during loadshedding, with no capital outlay.
The Energy as a Service (EaaS) payment arrangement for residential options is essentially ‘rent to own’.
‘Rent to own’ means no up-front costs, a fixed monthly service fee, the option to buy the equipment within 10 years (or extend the service agreement) and maintenance and insurance is included.
There is also the option to buy the equipment after five years.
