Joining the NeoLife family changed Tessa’s life
The Ballito resident gives advice to other women looking to boost their income while retaining a flexible lifestyle.
It’s been many years since Tessa Duane took the decision to join the NeoLife family.
Looking back, it was a life-altering move. ‘My husband and I live on a farm just outside Ballito and at the time I was working as a youth pastor which is effectively volunteer work, and I needed to supplement my income.’
She carefully considered her options. ‘My husband is a cameraman and travels a lot. At that stage we had no children and I wanted the flexibility to travel with him, so a 9 to 5 job with fixed working hours wouldn’t have worked. I wanted to carry on doing what I love and have flexibility in my lifestyle. My long-term plan was to be a stay-at-home mom and be available to my children, just as my mother had been when I was growing up.’
A friend presented the NeoLife opportunity to her when she was still in her twenties. ‘It turned out to be the perfect solution as it gave me an income that was sufficient, the flexibility I dreamed of and, when the children came along, the ability to stay at home and watch them grow up.’
It was an exciting journey of discovery. ‘The NeoLife direct-selling business model has a 50-year history of successful operations in South Africa and enables people like me to increase their income in a practical way with no capital requirements. NeoLife offers a range of high-quality nutritional supplements, proven to aid in the prevention of chronic diseases and promote long-term good health, which I sell to friends, neighbours and community members,’ she says.
Over the years, Tessa has identified several key outcomes on her NeoLife journey that have given her a sense of real satisfaction.
‘Apart from the benefits of a steady income and flexibility in my life, the first positive for me results from my training in environmental sciences. NeoLife products are non-toxic in the environment because their packaging has a limited environmental plastic footprint. Secondly, I have been blown away by the difference these products have made to the long-term health of my customers. They really work.’
Tessa loves being part of the broader NeoLife family. ‘This business has brought so much positivity into my life. All the people and leaders we meet through NeoLife want to make a difference. They have a message of hope and believe in a better tomorrow.’
The NeoLife system allows people from every walk of life to be successful. ‘It’s wonderful to see people with PhDs and others who haven’t finished school working successfully in the business. The key is to focus on the areas where you doubt your ability to succeed. Background doesn’t matter much,’ Tessa says.
She speaks from experience. ‘Whatever excuse you have for not being successful, work on that and don’t let it define you. Face your fears and do the things that scare you. Once you’ve done it, it never seems as scary as you thought it would be.’
