Lucky TotalEnergies Umhlali customer rides away with R35 000 scooter

The giveaway was part of the 24-hour fuel station's fourth birthday celebrations.

One lucky customer rode away with a brand-new scooter last Friday after swiping his OK Express loyalty card at the TotalEnergies Umhlali service station.

The giveaway was part of the 24-hour station’s fourth birthday celebrations, which included cake for staff and customers as well as a spin-and-win promotion. Prizes included chocolates and OK’s Count On loyalty cards, each pre-loaded with R25.

Regular customer Ashvath Singh (36) from Tongaat was the big winner of the day, taking home a Suzuki scooter valued at R35 000.

“I was very excited when I heard I’d won the bike,” said Singh, who regularly frequents the store.
“It is the first competition I have ever won. I just swiped my card, and the next thing they called me up to say I’d won.”

Gladys Mthethwa, Olwethu Mabena, OK Express site manager Chandhini Naidoo and TotalEnergies forecourt site manager Reggie Moodley.

Forecourt site manager Reggie Moodley said the celebration was a way to thank the community for its support. He also highlighted the benefits of the OK Count On loyalty programme, which allows customers to save R1 per litre of fuel when they fill up at TotalEnergies sites. The card can also be used at OK stores nationwide.

“We have witnessed tremendous growth and progress since the TotalEnergies R102 site opened in 2022,” said Moodley.

“We have established a great, hard-working core team and, together with our valued and loyal customers, celebrated four years of success. A big thank you to all our patrons in Ballito and surrounding areas for your consistent and overwhelming support.

“Congratulations to our loyal customer, Ashvath Singh, on winning the scooter. We wish him many safe and happy adventures.”
