Taxi boss riddled with bullets in Tongaat street

A high caliber rifle reportedly opened fire on the man's car earlier this evening.

A well-known taxi boss was gunned down in Greylands, near Fairbreeze Secondary School in Tongaat this evening.

The man, in his late forties who was known for his recent efforts in cleaning up drugs in the community, was reportedly murdered by being shot multiple times with a high caliber rifle.

Emergency Control SA’s Ishmail Mitha said he received a call from a witness who reported that a black VW was being fired at.

“A few months ago, the victim’s nephew borrowed his car and was shot at multiple times while driving it.

“It was believed the hit was meant for his uncle, who they managed to shoot this evening.”

Reaction Unit South Africa reported that the man was shot multiple times in the head.

“About 25 nine millimetre cartridges were found in the road.”
