Taxi violence sets Mandeni rank ablaze

It’s believed the shooting was between two taxi security companies.

Four taxi’s and two cars were set alight at the Mandeni taxi rank this evening, after a gun battle that lasted about 40 minutes.

It is alleged that the shooting was between two security companies and was taxi related.

“There were no injuries that we are aware of at this point,” said IPSS Medical Rescue’s Dylan Meyrick.

The Mandeni taxi rank will be closed tomorrow following a police investigation.

Police were unavailable to comment at the time of publication.
