Police say husband is not a suspect in murder of grade three Glenhills Primary teacher

A 59-year-old Glenhills Primary School teacher was found dead, thought to have been murdered, in her home in Stanger Manor on Monday morning.

Bhanu Dalram’s death came as a shock to her colleagues and pupils and they are struggling to come to terms with her death, said school principal Hans Harilal.

“The school has lost a very experienced teacher, who had been working here for about 23 years. She was also the head of a department for the foundation phase. Dalram was an excellent teacher and will be missed by all,” said Hurilal.

Police spokesperson colonel Thembeka Mbele said KwaDukuza police were investigating a case of murder.

Dalram in January reported a case of domestic violence against her husband however, police said he is not a suspect.

“KwaDukuza police received a complaint of murder at Stanger Manor and found the body of a woman lying on the floor with no visible injuries. She had blood coming from her nose,” said Mbele.
