Nkobongo vigilantes assault man for raping stepdaughter

According to traditional leader (induna) New Mlondo, the child reported the rape to her mother on Sunday.

A man was assaulted by Nkobongo residents after he allegedly raped his 9-year-old stepdaughter last weekend.

According to traditional leader (induna) New Mlondo, the child reported the rape to her mother on Sunday.

“The girl told her mother that while she was at work on Friday, her stepdad put her on the bed and removed her clothes, then raped her. On Sunday, while the man was sleeping, the girl told her mother.”

It was not long before a crowd had gathered outside the house.

“When the man was confronted, he was aggressive and residents assaulted him,” said Mlondo, who said the child was now struggling with nightmares of the vigilante assault on her stepfather.
Police confirmed that the man had been charged with rape.
