Man stabbed to death at Ballito Junction, cops make swift arrest

An altercation in the mall this afternoon led to the death of a cellular store employee.

Umhlali police have arrested a Pakistani man for the murder of a man at Ballito Junction regional mall this afternoon.

The victim, an employee of a cellular shop was stabbed at about 2.30pm today after a brief altercation within the store and died shortly afterwards of his injuries, said a representative of the mall.

Umhlali Saps spokesperson Vinny Pillay said they were waiting for a Pakistani translator before the police could question the suspect.

“More information will be available once we have concluded our investigation,” said Pillay.

The murder scene was cordoned off and all other stores are still trading as normal.
