Corpse found clutching R100 note at Malende
Police are awaiting the post-mortem result to determine the cause of death.
A decomposing body was found floating in a stream in Malende on Sunday, clutching a R100 note.
Residents spotted the half submerged body with one hand above water.
In a voice note sent to a police officer, a resident asked police to come urgently because people wanted to take the money.
Photographic evidence of this was sent to the Courier, but we withheld publishing due to the disturbing nature of the photograph.
KwaDukuza police spokesperson, constable Siphesihle Myeni, said they were awaiting the post-mortem result to determine the cause of death.
