Man shot and killed outside Tongaat Home Affairs
Police are currently at the scene of the shooting.
A man was shot and killed on Maharaj Street in Metcalf, Tongaat opposite the Home Affairs offices this afternoon.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa spokesperson, Prem Balram, a Reaction Unit officer was on patrol in the area when he was flagged down by a passerby, who informed him of the shooting.
The officer found a 48-year-old man slumped over the driver’s seat of a silver Toyota Corolla. He had been shot multiple times and was declared dead on arrival of responding paramedics.
“According to eyewitnesses, the hitmen fled in a white Ford Ranger,” Balram said.
Several spent 9mm cartridges were found at the scene, where police are currently investigating the murder.
