A multi-million-rand project to upgrade internal roads in the Shaka’s Head township was launched by acting KwaDukuza Mayor Cllr. Dolly Govender last week.

The project is intended to improve accessibility and address ongoing storm water issues.

The project value stands at R12 387 317,62 including VAT and is expected to span over six months.

“This project puts paid to the fact the ANC manifesto and promises made during the electioneering period and in meetings were not a talk shop,” said Govender.

“I am particularly happy that this community waited for this long without burning tyres, you remained calm.

“That is why today we have finally come to you to upgrade all the non-conducive and muddy roads with blacktop.”
