Taxi rank for Nkobongo

Work on the project is set to begin this week with a commitment from the contractor to source skilled labour from the area.

The building of a multi-million rand taxi rank was unveiled by municipal officials at Nkobongo last Monday.

Chairperson of the portfolio committee on Infrastructure, Thulani Ntuli, launched the construction project by pledging R10.4 million towards the development of the new facility.

Work on the project is set to begin this week with a commitment from the contractor to source skilled labour from the area.

Commuters have made use of an informal taxi rank and have had to endure waiting in long queues during inclement weather conditions and on sweltering days.

Ntuli said the new taxi rank would contribute to the upliftment of the community.

The project was made possible by KwaDukuza municipality.
